Fresnillo Non-Executive Director Luis Robles Dies After Short Illness

Mon, 23rd Nov 2020 22:07

(Alliance News) - Fresnillo PLC on Monday announced that Independent Non-Executive Director Luis Robles had died after a short illness.

Robles joined the Mexican gold and silver miner in May 2019, having previously chaired the Latin American Banking Federation and held "various roles" at the Mexican Banking Association including chair.

A new director will be appointed to Fresnillo's board in due course.

Fresnillo Chair Alberto Bailleres said: "We are all deeply saddened by this tragic news. In his short time with Fresnillo, Luis made a huge contribution to the board. Luis was an outstanding colleague. We will miss his wise counsel, his vast experience, but above all his kindness and friendship. On behalf of the board, and everyone at Fresnillo, I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to his family, friends and colleagues. Luis, te extranaremos."

Shares in Fresnillo ended 4.3% lower on Monday at 1,085.00 pence.
