LONDON (Alliance News) - Flowgroup PLC, the company which is trying to bring a new boiler to market, Tuesday said the pilot scheme to install its domestic Flow Boiler into test customer homes was progressing well, while its power electronics control system had achieved a key compliance certificate.
In a statement, the company said the pilot scheme, whereby 120 of the boilers are being installed in customer homes between November last year and March this year, is going very well, with installations running smoothly. It said it is getting positive customer feedback and reliability is meeting its expectations.
Menawhile, its power electronics control system, which exports power generated by a micro-CHPm boiler and exports it to the local power grid, has achieved so-called G83/2 compliance at the UK national standards agency BSI.
G83/2 is an engineering recommendation laid down by the Energy Networks Association for the connection of power generation equipment like solar panels and wind turbines to the distribution networks.
"G83/2 compliance for our power electronics control system illustrates our commitment to designing the best possible product, to take advantage of the opportunity we have. Our commercial launch schedule is on track with our domestic installations providing invaluable experience for our nationwide installation partners. We'll now be releasing regular updates, as we move forward to our commercial launch in the second half of 2014," Chief Executive Tony Stiff said.
Last month, the company said that Jabil Circuit Inc will manufacture up to 390,000 of its microcHP Flow boilers. It is hoping to bring the boiler to mass production from the second half of 2014.
Flowgroup shares were down 0.9% at 14.50 pence Tuesday morning.
