FAA to carry out evaluation flights for improved Boeing 737 MAX

(Sharecast News) - The Federal Aviation Administration is due to conduct an evaluation of the recently improved Boeing 737 Max.
The Boeing 737 Max will undergo a two-hour evaluation flight on Wednesday, in a key review as it remains grounded after the two fatal crashes that killed around 350 passengers.

The grounding order was implemented in March 2019 after fatal crashes crashes in Ethiopia and Indonesia and the company has since been trapped in its worst-ever-crisis.

Faulty software, since improved, was found to have led to both crashes. Yet relations with the regulator are strained as the FAA and its processes for certifying airplanes, which in turn relied too heavily on the manufacturer itself, have also come under very heavy scrutiny.

Dickson, a former military and commercial pilot, and other FAA and Boeing pilots are due to take off around 9am from King County International Airport in the Seattle area and land around 11am.
