EXECUTIVE CHANGES: M&S taps Mars exec; new Metals Exploration chair

Thu, 22nd Apr 2021 16:10

(Alliance News) - The following is a round-up of London-listed company director and manager changes announced on Thursday and not separately reported by Alliance News:

----------

Marks & Spencer Group PLC - London-based food, clothing and homewares retailer - Hires Fiona Dawson as non-executive director, starting May 25. Dawson is global president of Mars Food, the London-based arm of McLean, Virginia-based Mars Inc.

----------

Metals Exploration PLC - natural resources firm with assets in Pacific Rim, including Runruno gold project in Philippines - Hires three new non-executive directors, with one to be chair. David Cather will be independent non-executive chair. He is formerly chief executive officer for mining of Abu Dhabi Capital Group and also CEO of Avocet Mining PLC. Avocet was a former London listing that was placed into administration in 2019, though Cather left in 2017. Jeremy Wrathall will be independent non-executive director. He is CEO of Cornish Lithium Ltd and formerly was global head of Natural Resources in London at Anglo-South African bank Investec. Andrew Chubb will be non-executive director. He is a partner and head of Mining at investment bank Hannam & Partners.

----------

Bidstack Group PLC - London-based in-video-game advertising - Appoints Glen Calvert as independent non-executive director, while Chief Operating Officer Lisa Hau is promoted to the board as executive director, both from Thursday. Calvert is COO of esports team Fnatic Ltd. Bidstack told its annual general meeting on Thursday its pipeline for further "AAA and high-fidelity" titles is robust, as game developers turn to ads as an additional source of monetisation. It confirmed earlier guidance that 2021 revenue will be "materially greater" than in 2020 but will be significantly second-half weighted. Revenue in 2020 was GBP1.7 million, though Bidstack's pretax loss widened to GBP7.0 million.
