EXECUTIVE CHANGES: British Honey on hunt for new chair

(Alliance News) - The following is a round-up of London-listed company director and manager changes announced on Tuesday and not separately reported by Alliance News:

British Honey Co PLC - Buckinghamshire-based spirits and honey producer - Says Richard Day resigns as independent non-executive chair with immediate effect. Day was only appointed to the role a month ago. "Day was recently appointed to the board but following discussions with the directors and senior management of BHC, it has become apparent that he would be able to provide greater support to the operations and growth strategy of the company as an independent consultant," company says. Pending appointment of permanent successor, Chief Executive Michael Williams to become interim executive chair. It has started the search for a new independent non-executive chair.

Merit Group PLC - business intelligence, media and technology resourcing - Makes Interim Chief Executive David Beck permanent, and says Chief Financial Officer Simon Bullock decides to step down. Bullock, who joined group in March 2020, plans to stay to ensure a smooth handover and leave the company before the end of January 2022. Merit appoints Philip Machray as new CFO, and he will join company in October. "ACA qualified, Phil is a strategic and commercial finance professional with over 25 years' experience in the media sector, most recently as director of corporate development with Reach PLC," firm says. Adds that Cornelius Conlon, a director of the company and managing director of Merit Data & Technology, has been appointed to the additional role of chief technology officer.

Induction Healthcare Group PLC - healthcare technology company - Announces management changes to "ideally position Induction for future growth and success". Hugo Stephenson, joint CEO, will move to a new role as group executive director, with a focus on group product strategy and business development, particularly in the Asia Pacific region. "Stephenson will also continue to manage the ongoing integration of Induction Attend Anywhere following the acquisition and will play a pivotal role in driving commercial and operational success," company says. The other joint CEO, James Balmain, will become Induction's sole CEO. Hires Dave Williams as chief technology officer, who comes from food delivery firm Just Eat PLC.

Ilika PLC - Hampshire-based solid state battery firm - Makes appointments to bolster development and commercialisation of solid-state battery products. Appoints Brendan McCarthy as Goliath Operations Director. He was most recently operations director at the UK Battery Industrialisation Centre and prior to that had a "long career" at BMW AG. Robin Bell, currently chief operating officer at Inflowmatix, is chosen as vice president for Product Development. He will also take over line management responsibility for Ilika's Stereax and Goliath product development programmes from Brian Hayden. Hayden is to step down as a statutory director at upcoming annual general meeting, though will retain position of chief scientific officer in a consulting role.

Empire Metals Ltd - gold and copper miner with assets in Australia and Austria - Hires Ed Baltis as exploration consultant and Louisa Stokes as exploration geologist. Firm says: "Baltis will assist Empire with exploration strategy and targeting, business development, and project evaluation, specifically looking within the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia, as the Company moves to advance its two Australian based gold projects, at Eclipse and Central Menzies." Stokes, meanwhile, will provide technical guidance as well as analysing data.

Concurrent Technologies PLC - Colchester, Essex-based maker of embedded computer boards - Engineering Director David Evans-Hughes hands in notice of resignation from the board, effective immediately. "His analytical mind, creative designs and drive to deliver consistent solutions for our customers have been instrumental in the success of the company and we wish him all the best in a well-earned retirement," says Chair Mark Cubitt.

Oberon Investments Group PLC - boutique wealth management and corporate broking - Hires Gemma Godfrey as a non-executive director. She was the founder and chief executive of Moola Systems Ltd from September 2015 until November 2019, an FCA authorised digital investment service which was acquired by Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group in 2018.
