Dignity appoints Clive Whiley as chairman

(Sharecast News) - Funeral director Dignity has appointed Clive Whiley as its new chairman.
Whiley, whose appointment took effect on Thursday, has more than 35 years of experience in regulated strategic management positions since becoming a member of the London Stock Exchange.

Dignity said he has "extensive" main board executive director experience across a broad range of financial services, engineering, manufacturing, distribution, retail and leisure businesses.

Interim chairman David Blackwood said: "His significant commercial, business and board experience together with his personal qualities will be invaluable."

At 0910 BST, Dignity shares were up 1.6% at 518p.
