DeepMatter Platform To Be Adopted By University Of Nottingham

Thu, 20th Feb 2020 14:27

(Alliance News) - DeepMatter Group PLC on Thursday said it has partnered with the University of Nottingham's School of Chemistry.

The chemistry-focus big data and analysis company said the collaboration aims to explore the benefits of the DigitalGlassware platform in data capture and analysis within undergraduate chemistry teaching.

DigitalGlassware allows chemistry experiments to be recorded, coded and entered into a shared data cloud.

DeepMatter explained that the project will see undergraduate students performing a series of chemical reactions within DigitalGlassware over the course of four weeks.

The use of DigitalGlassware aims to significantly increase the reproducibility of experiments, the company noted.

"We are delighted that Nottingham's chemists of the future will have access to our innovative cloud-based platform, DigitalGlassware, supporting the university's drive towards the digitisation of chemistry and introducing the students early to digital tools," said DeepMatter Chief Executive Mark Warne.

"DigitalGlassware is a natural fit in our teaching labs as it exposes data led approaches to our students in a meaningful way, preparing them better for their future chemical careers," added Andrew Nortcliffe, assistant professor of Medicinal Chemistry, Faculty of Science, the University of Nottingham.

AIM-listed DeepMatter shares were trading 2.4% lower in London on Thursday at 2.00 pence each.
