Deal reached to avoid compulsory UK pilot redundancies at easyJet - union

Fri, 25th Sep 2020 12:49

LONDON, Sept 25 (Reuters) - No easyJet pilots will
be given compulsory redundancy after agreeing a deal with the
airline, the British Airline Pilots Association (BALPA) said on
Friday.

In June 727 pilots were at risk of redundancy, but BALPA
said that now 60 would leave voluntarily and 1,500 had opted for
part-time work.

"EasyJet pilots and management have achieved a breakthrough
in negotiations meaning that no pilots will be made compulsorily
redundant," BALPA said in a statement.
