DDD Group Expands 3D TV Conversion License With Samsung

LONDON (Dow Jones)--DDD Group plc (DDD.LN), a 3D software and content company, announced Thursday that it has expanded the scope of the license agreement that allows Samsung Electronics Company Ltd. (SSGFY) to use DDD's automatic 2D to 3D conversion technology in Samsung's new 3D consumer displays and devices. MAIN FACTS: -As a result of the revised agreement, Samsung is now licensed to include the embedded 3D processing chips containing DDD's 2D to 3D conversion technology in Blu-ray players, LED and LCD monitors and large format displays. -DDD expects that Samsung will commence shipments of the first of these new product categories in early 2011 and does not currently anticipate any additional income for the 2010 financial year as a result of this change. -Shares closed Wednesday at 28 pence. -By Zechariah Hemans, Dow Jones Newswires; 44-20-7842-9411; zechariah.hemans@dowjones.com (END) Dow Jones Newswires June 17, 2010 03:01 ET (07:01 GMT)
