CMC Markets Picks Amazon Web Services For Product And Service Delivery

Tue, 26th Jan 2021 09:56

(Alliance News) - CMC Markets PLC on Monday announced it has selected Amazon Web Services to assist with delivering new products and services digitally.

Amazon Web Services is part of e-commerce giant Amazon.com Inc, and provide cloud computing platforms and Application Programming Interfaces on a pay-as-you-go basis.

For new product builds, the FTSE 250 provider of online trading services will use AWS's services including AWS Lambda, Amazon API Gateway, AWS Fargate and Amazon DynamoDB for new product builds.

As for data management requirements, CWC will employ Amazon's data and storage services which includes Amazon Simple Storage Service , Amazon Athena, Amazon Redshift and AWS Glue.

Using AWS, CMC Markets expects to free up valuable development hours, shortening its delivery time from six moths to six weeks.

"Over the last 10 years, our product offering, trades executed and volumes of data have grown considerably. Adopting AWS and using the highest levels of abstraction and native services allows us to develop our product offering with a far greater speed and richness of customer experience, underpinned by the scale and reliability of AWS services," said Chief Technology Officer Brendan Foxen.

Shares in CMC Markets were up 0.4% at 384.00 pence on Tuesday in London.
