LONDON (Alliance News) - BowLeven PLC Wednesday said it has pushed back the drilling of the first well on the Bomono permit in Cameroon following some minor logistical issues.
The company said the Zingana well site on the permit has undergone civil engineering activities and said the first surface casing string has been driven into place, which protects fresh water aquifers, provides structural strength and provides minimal pressure integrity to the well.
"Civil engineering activities continue with the preparation of the second well site, Moambe," said the company.
The rig is currently being assembled and will be tested prior to conducting any drilling operations. The first well, Zingana, will now be drilled in February following "some minor logistical issues which have now been resolved," said BowLeven.
BowLeven shares were down 3.1% to 30.03 pence per share on Wednesday morning.
