Aquila European hails end of construction at Guillena asset in Spain

Wed, 05th Apr 2023 10:21

(Alliance News) - Aquila European Renewables PLC on Wednesday said that Guillena, a 50-megawatt peak solar photovoltaic asset, has been fully constructed and is now operational.

Aquila European Renewables is a London-based closed-ended investment company focused on small-to-medium-sized energy efficiency projects.

Guillena is one of two assets in southern Spain which belongs to the Greco portfolio, acquired in March 2022. The other asset, Jaen, has been operational since November last year.

Following completion of Guillena, the Aquila's portfolio is now fully operational, and the operating capacity has increased to 464 megawatts.

Based on its fourth quarter net asset value, completion of Guillena will increase the firm's total gearing level to approximately 31% on a pro forma basis.

Aquila European Renewables shares were trading 0.3% higher at EUR0.94 each in London on Wednesday morning.
