July 14 (Reuters) - EasyJet has selected CFM InternationalS.A., a joint venture between Safran and GE, toprovide 270 engines for its order of 35 Airbus A320 aircraft and100 Airbus A320neo aircraft, the company said on Monday.
The airline said it had negotiated a reduced price with CFMbut that details were confidential.
The first A320 aircraft are expected to be delivered between2015-2017 and the new A320neo aircraft are set for deliverybetween 2017-2022, easyJet said.
"The engines will help easyJet to maintain its low cost baseand the new generation A320neo is expected to deliver a cost perseat saving of between 11 percent and 12 percent compared to thecurrent generation A319," said easyJet Chief Executive CarolynMcCall.
