AFC commissions first fuel cell system

Shares in alkaline fuel cell developer AFC Energy rose by a tenth after the company said that it has finished the commissioning of its first commercial-scale fuel cell system."This is a significant milestone for AFC Energy. Commissioning of the Beta System is the culmination of five years' work by our dedicated team and is a remarkable achievement," said executive deputy chairman Ian Balchin."It puts us well on our way to delivering a low-cost, low-carbon alternative to conventional electricity generation."By 13.27pm, shares were 9.64% higher at 45.5p.BC
