OSLO, Nov 28 (Reuters) - Norway's Nyhamna gas export
terminal will gradually restart on Sunday following a shutdown
on Saturday amid a strike, system operator Gassco and the
plant's technical service provider Shell said.
"A local solution on emergency preparedness tasks has been
found by Shell. Nyhamna is ramping up from tomorrow morning,"
Alfred Hansen, head of Gassco's operations, told Reuters.
A risk analysis showed other senior personnel could perform
the safety critical tasks of four security guards who went on
strike, a Shell spokeswoman said.
Saturday's outage cut output by around 50 million standard
cubic metres (mcm) of gas, while the outage during Sunday's
gradual restart is expected to amount to 39 mcm, Gassco said.
Norway meets around 22% of Europe's annual gas demand via
its extensive network of pipelines to Britain, Germany, Belgium
and France.
