HOUSTON, Aug 19 (Reuters) - A hydrocracking unit was shut onSunday at Motiva Enterprises 600,000 barrel per day(bpd) Port Arthur, Texas refinery following a Saturday afternoonfire, according to sources familiar with operations at therefinery.
The hydrocracker was added to the refinery as part of afive-year, $10-billion expansion completed in 2012. It adjoinsthe 325,000 bpd crude distillation unit, which energy industryintelligence service Genscape reported shut on Sunday.
This was the second fire at the refinery last week. OnMonday, a blaze shut the sulfur recovery unit and led to areduction in production at the refinery. (Reporting by Erwin Seba; Editing by Gerald E. McCormick)
