ProPhotonix Inks Exclusive Distribution Agreement With Alava Ingenieros

LONDON (Alliance News) - ProPhotonix Ltd said Friday that it had appointed Alava Ingenieros Group as the exclusive distributor for its machine vision lighting products in Spain and Portugal.

The company said it aimed to further expand its market share in Europe through the agreement. It is targeting the automotive, factory automation, inspection, food and beverage equipment, print and packaging, traffic, transport and medical markets in these regions.

No financial details of the agreement were disclosed.

Shares in ProPhotonix are not yet traded Friday. They last traded at 2.74 pence.

ProPhotonix reports annual flat loss, warns of currency headwinds in 2015

Strong currency headwinds saw LED lighting producer ProPhotonix post a flat annual pre-tax loss. The London-listed group reported a loss for 2014 of $1.3m (£0.87m) compared with a $1.2m loss the year before, as a $1m loss in foreign currency exchange weighed on a 5.12% increase in revenue to $16.4m.
