Motive Television Slides As Freeview Tablet App Is Delayed

Fri, 30th May 2014 07:12

LONDON (Alliance News) - Motive Television TV saw its shares slide Friday after it warned that a Freeview Tablet TV application that it was hoping would be launched ahead of next month's football World Cup would now likely miss the event because testing and de-bugging of the technology was taking longer than hoped.

Motive had said back in April that testing of its technology for Freeview Tablet TV would begin on April 28.

"It now appears that the testing and de-bugging processes are taking longer than initially anticipated and it is unlikely that the final product will be available by the start of this event. Information on when and where the new product will be available will be released once the testing cycle has been completed," the company said in its statement Friday.

The Motive app will be combined with iCube hardware and will be the first platform certified for Freeview viewing on tablets. The app will allow a viewer to have a full Freeview experience, including "red button" interactive capabilities plus additional features to watch and record all Freeview channels.

Motive Television shares were down 16.9% at 0.016 pence early Friday, one of the biggest declines on the AIM All-Share.
