Minds + Machines Confident Of "Significantly" Improved Second Half

Thu, 27th Aug 2015 09:25

LONDON (Alliance News) - Minds + Machines Group Ltd on Thursday expressed confidence in a "significantly" improved operating performance in the second half of 2015, compared to the first, due to its focus on cost reduction and upcoming top-level domain launches.

The owner and operator of top-level domains - the suffix on a web address such as .com - said it has gained net proceeds of over USD3.5 million from withdrawing its applications for the .data and .art domain names.

Domain names under its top-level domain .law go on sale October 13, and the company said it has received a "high level of interest" from lawyers wishing to buy domains. It has also seen a positive initial response to its sales efforts for its .miami domain.

It also said it saw good support for its first .london auction of premium domain addresses with 20 such addresses sold.

"Our focus on cost reduction and cost-efficient selling strategies for our portfolio of standard, premium and super-premium names is now showing a positive result on the company's operating performance," said Chief Executive Officer Antony Van Couvering in a statement.

Shares in Minds + Machines were up 6.3% at 8.64 pence Thursday morning.
