LONDON (Alliance News) - Medaphor Group PLC on Wednesday announced new updates to the 2016 version of its ultrasound skills training simulator ScanTrainer Professional.
The ultrasound medical simulators provider said two of its packages had been updated, with Echo in Life added to its Emergency Medicine Package and nuchal translucency, examination of a corpus luteal cyst during pregnancy, and placental examination added to its Core Skills Obsetrics curriculum.
The Echo in Life update includes the assessment of the pleura, ventricles and blood volume status together with examples of additional heart conditions such as pericardial effusion.
Meanwhile, its Core Skills Obstetrics curriculum now includes nuchal translucency, examination of a corpus luteal cyst during pregnancy, and placental examination, Medaphor said, with the scan now also updated with clearer images and includes Doppler. Nuchal Translucency is when fluid collects under the skin at the back of a baby's neck and can be measured using ultrasound.
Cloud Case customers will also have access to an additional 75 cases such as dichorionic, diamniotic twins, a uterus with fibroids and adenomyosis and liver metastases, Medaphor said.
"Since the launch of ScanTrainer Professional 2016 version back in January we have been working closely with customers to make these enhancements to the system and ensure that we're continuing to provide customers with the best ultrasound teaching solution on the market," said Chief Technology Officer Nicholas Sleep.
Shares in Medaphor were untraded on Wednesday at 41.00 pence.
