JPMorgan Smaller Cos Investment Trust PLC - a trust giving access to growing smaller companies in the UK - Says net asset value per share at July 31 rises year-on-year to 269 pence from 264.4p. Proposes final dividend of 5.5p, equal to year prior. Total return for the year ended July 31 at GBP7.6 million, improved from loss of GBP12.5 million a year before. Says during the year the company's total return on net assets rose by 3.8% compared to the return of minus 8.7% for the company's benchmark. Remains confident in future.
Chair Andrew Impey said: "Clearly the future remains uncertain and careful stewardship of investments will be required. However, the company is invested in a good spread of well positioned, soundly financed companies, with both UK and international exposure, which also have strong medium term growth prospects."
