LONDON (Alliance News) - Shopping centre owner Intu Properties PLC is set to hire former Travis Perkins PLC chief operating officer Tony Buffin as its new chief executive, the Sunday Times reported on Sunday.
The newspaper said that Intu - which owns centres such as the Trafford Centre in Manchester and Lakeside in Essex - was understood to be favouring Buffin as the preferred candidate to replace current Chief Executive Officer David Fischel.
Fischel - who has been at the helm since 2001 - announced his intention to stand down in July 2018.
Buffin had been chief financial officer at building supplies retailer Travis Perkins between 2013 and 2017 before becoming its chief operating officer. He left the firm in February.
