Diploma Picks Former Intu Properties Director As Finance Chief

Thu, 06th Feb 2020 09:21

(Alliance News) - Diploma PLC said Thursday it has appointed Barbara Gibbes as chief financial officer with effect on June 22.

She will join the FTSE 250 technical products and services supplier on March 2 as CFO-designate, and then take up the position proper on June 22 following a period of transition.

Gibbes will be replacing Nigel Lingwood, who is stepping down from from his role on June 22, and leaving the group at the end of September after 19 years since 2001.

Gibbes's most recent role was as acting chief financial officer for Intu Properties PLC from April to August 2019. Prior to that, she was director of finance at the shopping centre owner for two years from 2017 to 2019. Gibbes also was financial controller at Domino's Pizza Group PLC.

"I am delighted to welcome Barbara to Diploma. She has a wealth of experience and a strong track record in fast paced, decentralised, service-orientated environments. She has strategic vision, strong commercial acumen and a track record of execution. I have no doubt that Barbara is an excellent fit for Diploma, and I am really excited about working with her to deliver our strategic objectives and the next phase of growth," said Chief Executive Johnny Thomson.

Shares in Diploma - which is based in London - were down 0.4% at 1,963.00 pence on Thursday.
