(Alliance News) - Horizon Discovery Group PLC said on Tuesday it has signed a commercial license agreement with Rentschler Biopharma SE for the use of its Chosource platform.
The Chosource platform is Horizon's "royalty-free alternative for the production of complex proteins" and has been used for "multiple successful Innovative New Drug filings".
The cell engineering firm said that under the terms of the agreement, Chosource will be used in combination with Rentschler's novel in-house process for cell line development for difficult-to-express proteins.
Horizon explained that its cell line combined with Biopharma’s integrated platform process will provide organizations of all sizes - from large pharmaceutical companies to clinical stage biotechs and early stage startups - with a royalty-free alternative for the production of highly complex proteins, thereby supporting researchers from early drug development through to commercial manufacturing.

Horizon Discovery shares were trading flat at 100.00 pence each on Tuesday afternoon in London.
