FTSE 250 movers: CPP surges after product launch

CPP, the identity theft and credit card insurer that is under investigation by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) for certain issues surrounding the sale of its products in the UK, has launched a new product, causing shares to rocket on Thursday. Its identity protection product Identity Safe can now be bought on its website, and "provides consumers with a comprehensive range of assistance services to help customers detect, prevent and resolve identity fraud," the company said.Lamprell's share price jumped by a tenth after the oil and gas engineer proposed the acquisition of United Arab Emirates-based firm Maritime Industrial Services for a total consideration of $336.1m (£208.1m).Also wanted are the share of TalkTalk after the telecom group announced that pre-tax profits in the year to 31 March soared as monthly subscriptions increased.Cash and carry wholesaler Booker is higher after it increased full year pre-tax profit by a quarter, beefed up its dividend and said it is on course to meet full year expectations despite tough retail conditions.A solid performance from its spreads and cheese businesses could boost sentiment for chilled foods firm Dairy Crest as it fell into the red. The group reported a 5% increase in full year adjusted pre-tax profit.Heading lower is Premier Oil despite maintaining its short- and medium-term production rates. The hopes to produce 45 thousand barrels of oil equivalents per day (kboepd) in 2011, 75 kboepd in 2012 and 100 in the mid-term.
