I’m pretty sure that there are more ways to produce aviation biofuels, than just the VLS away. I stand with my argument about it being to big to finance. However there might be others out there with less expensive, smaller scale options that would also be in a position to receive some of that money.
Hi SB, yes I agree listening back it doesn't specify all the money is for Altalto, it just says for the first flagship plant which of course is Altalto. It's been labelled the flagship plant by many politicians and industry leaders throughout this year so I made a bit of a connection there. In the light of day it's probably unlikely VLS will get all of that money but agree completely with you that they'll get the lions share. In addition to a big boost from the F4C grant of which I also think they'll get all or most of the remaining £10m and then on top of that lets remember there is £50m also being called for to move SAF plants to higher technology readiness levels.
This fits completely into the governements green agenda and the levelling up promises made. The Humber is being touted as the green energy estuary and the Altalto site specifically is located in a business enterprize zone.
Yes it's a slow burn this one but if you have the patience I am sure you will be rewarded with a multi-multi bagger within couple of years. Altalto will get funded.
If you dare to dream then with potentially 14 of these sites around the UK plus global orders then we could be into an absolute monster here. Of course, there's a lot of hurdles to overcome, financial and technical risks but I'm just highlighting the massive potential upside to this which makes a very clear asymmetrical risk. Absolute no brainer to accumulate shares at this level and I continue to do so.
GL all
On the 429m in government backed loans, de-rampy does correctly say that it is not explicitly said that it is all for Altalto. However, by stating it is for all plants he is not only making his own assumption, but is also contradicting his earlier argument that the Altalto plant is too big an investment for an unproven process, by accepting that more plants are being planned. Either this won't work at scale and it's government backed loans down then pan for VLS or the money is for lots of plants and VLS will not fund the first one. I wonder if he really believes his arguments.
The logical sequence would be to make sure fund Altalto is funded, then scale to the other sites. This would mean that the lion's share should go to Altalto.
Anyway, looking forward to the next short burn...
Also of note is the fact that, whilst it is possible to replace the current crop of short haul aircraft within a reasonable timescale (I would guess around 20 years), replacing the long haul aircraft is a much bigger problem. You have to find a fuel that offers the same potential in terms of aircraft performance without incurring a range/ passenger capacity penalty to offer a viable alternative and there does not appear to be one t present.
Welcome. You picked up on something I missed as well about the long haul C02 being responsible for 2/3rd of the total c02 emissions from aviation.
Good luck
Derampy mc derampface here again, but with no agenda obviously.
Have a watch of the video and listen carefully.
I may have got my source wrong on the number of plants but the information remains the same. 14 plants!
Here's some actual government figures for you, £2.7Bn economic benefit by 2035 of SAF & you think couple hundred million won't be realized.
You're gonna get left behind here thankfully. Watch the money come flowing in once covid testing and or vaccine are announced!
As does de-rampymcrampface it would seem.
Get your facts right!!!!
The 14 plants by 2037 are NOT government figures. These are estimates from Sustainable Aviation coalition, which is an independent body.
Also, you state that the ‘£429m in gov backed loan guarantees to support the first flagship plant AltAlto’. Again, not correct. This is a pot of money (being asked for) to help support all SAF plants not, as you infer, just AltAlto.
Rampy McRampface strikes again.
ok good luck with that, not sure on timescales there but big profits on VLS are still a year or 2 away. You still interested here though I assume?
Let me tell you things are moving in the background at an ever accelerating rate, lot of information here >>

In summary Sustainable Aviation have requested £50m in grants to move SAF projects to high technology readiness levels.
This would be in addition to the current F4C grant I believe, which I believe VLS could get upto £10m from. I believe this could be recieved at any point.
In addition to that they have requested £429m in government backed loan guarantees to support the first flagship SAF plant Altalto in the UK. Governments own figures predict there could be upto 14 of these plants by 2037 & there is strong cross parliametary support to make this happen.
Patience will be rewarded here but understand not everyone can wait.
no sold at 7.10 moved into falcon oil and gas - i think quicker upside than VLS
Behind every sell is someone buying though but I agree, those selling are doing so out of impatience and nothing else. Let them keep chasing that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
Are you back invested in here now Casajaluma?
no news - so investors getting bored - moving on to more active stocks with regulars rns for investors
Price seems quite unstable today. Anyone have any thoughts? Swinging from over 2% down to 4%up
