Share price has been bucking the trend in gold price for a while now, Like to think this is a vote of confidence in the Barrick merger though stock market hedging on Brexit fears may be turning many to gold. The future appears to be very rosy.
Gold price unchanged. Any reason for 5-6% rally?
Well done! Good profit.
Sold my 207 there too. Paid £48 & sold @ £68.25. 40% profit. Helps make up for some of the dogs i still hold.
Well, that's me out. Sell triggered this morning. It'll probably soar now lol. Profit's profit though so happy with 35%. GL everyone.
Could be quite a prudent decision. I have a sell order at 68.50, maybe she'll pop this week, barrick was well up on Friday close and gold is rising. Like you however, I'd sooner cash in before we roll over into barrick, just for the ease of it all. There's plenty of good value stocks available at the moment. BHP is by no means expensive and will a special dividend coming this month from its shale sale to BP , it may be worthwhile putting my resume money to work there. There may be a bit of an over reaction to British stocks after Tuesday 'if' May's Brexit deal gets thrown out. The markets are bit of a minefield at the moment though. GL all.
I've sold my position here. Like RRS and MW but not sure about Barrick and don't want to go through the M&A process with my broker who's very slow with these things. I'll move some of my money to Fresnillo and Acacia Mining as I expect the RRS delisting to give them a premium.
I might be back and buy some Barrick shares early next year but I think I'll pay lower fees buying directly on the NYSE then going through the M&A.
Good luck to you all! I think you'll do fine if you hold. I just felt there are better options elsewhere.
Up nicely on the Brexit drama. That's why you need shares like this in your portfolio!
I think this has probably more to do with the gold price going down. All gold stocks are down last few days. Has nothing to do with the merger IMO.
£58.58
On a heading to £58.84 in line with Barrick, what a great deal, I am out next rise
As it looks increasingly like we will all be on the same team very soon I hope you will not mind me entering your board to suggest that you have a look at ACA - 64% owned by Barrick and likely to be brought fully into the fold shortly. You know the strengths of MB and therefore please consider how likely he will be to achieve a resolution with the Government of Tanzania. I anticipate the price to at least double from where we are now at £1.69 - probably more.
Seem good.
Gold is dropping as the doller gets stronger. Rrs is reporting next week I think. Let's see what that brings.
Great news last few days. Dividend is going up:

and production in Mail will be increased:

SP doesn't seem to reflect the positive news atm. But at least is not going down like most gold stocks...
Thanks but only one issue. Whatever form of Brexit we agree or determine, there will be short term economic issues which will of course be duly magnified and lead to a cheaper pound. Barricks dollar price will thus benefit even further.
The offer is an all share offer. 6.128 barrick gold shares for each Randgold you hold. If you keep an eye on Barrick SP on NYSE, when it goes up, rrs has to too because everyone knows that if you do some maths you can work out the relative price for randgold. Today , Barrick isn't doing so well after reporting to market , beat consensus revenue estimates but there was a big write down on one of their mines. Basically ,look at Barrick SP multiply it by 6.128 and then divide by the GBP/USD exchange rate. If RRS got left behind, so to speak, everyone would pile in, knowing what it would be worth when the deal goes through at end of the year. There may be a bit of a sell off from people who don't want to hold NYSE listed shares nearer the time however if you did hold and come end of March, a no deal brexit sends the GBP down it'll in turn increase the value of your barrick shares. It's all bit of a gamble. Hope that helps.
Yes but i thought there was a cash offer in and recommended ?
Undervalued and Gold continues to increase in value .... look at the chart in relation to Gold Prices
Can someone please explain why this share keeps going up ?
On 3rd Oct spendapenny did the Maths on what the offer was worth to an RRS holder .
Did something change .
Just bought at £65.60. Was going to buy yesterday but kept thinking it would go down. Here is hoping for £70
Share price continuing to rally on news negotiations with Democratic Republic of Congo has resulted in Randgild receiving a $218M rebate of Value Added Tax incurred during the development of the Kibali gold mine. $40M will be paid initially and the balance paid on a compensatory basis - VAT exemption on local goods and services.

Hopefully, this news will calm the market and return this well run company's share price to previous highs.
Gold rising, Barrick looking like opening up, don't they report to market tomorrow? Let's hope for good news and maybe a push through 70.
This is the only good call I have made in the last while apart from PFC. Bought these @£48. Still holding hoping for £70
