Losing confidence in this. If BOD had confidence, they would be snapping up shares at this level. Anyone out there arguing with me?
There is now barely 1p between the prices of PIM and PHC. Huge cost savings and wider net of products screams out for a merger.
Does not imminently expect it to make profits but reckons it a buy at present SP.
Bayer has sold the Seed business to BASF. May not make a lot of difference but BASF paid a full price so will want to work the assets.
Down 15.5% at close. See my last posting. Any more like this and we could poke in a 1 for 2!!
Just looked at Plant Healthcare's SP which has fallen again and whilst I am a newbie who knows little, the two sets of execs obviously know each other from Seminars etc and a share only merger might make sense. Wouldn't be surprised if there are mutterings already. Not that this would necessarily do much in the short term for the SP, but adding a bit of bulk to the turnover (even if there are a few competing products) and shedding some duplication from the expenses column might well transform the accounts for the combined entity. If the SPs diverge any more, PIM could even put in a cheeky takeover offer (7 fo10?)
Thankfully I'm not alone - nice buys for 240,000 late yesterday Let's hope for a bit of a bounce back over the next few days
I wasn't particularly thinking of a merger etc more the comparison of the 2 companies over the last 5 years. Healthcare is significantly more established and was seen as the benchmark in PIM early days, the performance recently has significantly swung in PIM favour though given the tracking of the share prices
I hold my hand up I just looked at Director's deals - no need to be so abrasive though To be fair you have just popped up on PIM in the last year or so, posted 4 comments in total (3 in the last 24 hours) shouting the odds This is not a quick bump n dump share it's a long term story and we've had much tougher times than this by a long shot, especially just after JB came in when the company was completely restructured - the strides since he was brought on board are massive If you don't like the story leave it to those who appreciate it for what it is Apologies again
Thanks for your message about Plant Healthcare, Greedisvgood. Well, if nothing else, they could merge I suppose. At first sight they both seem to be finding it hard going. and would only need one lot of management! I know it is extremely unlikely but the comparison is useful. Shall stick around here for a bit and think about a stoploss.
Hang fire - this has always been a long haul ! The potential gains far outweigh the possible losses, I could have jumped at 65p but I stuck it out and still hoping for a better exit than that Some of the comments earlier from d1no are relevant but in the bigger picture this still has plenty of mileage - for comparison take a look at Plant Healthcare
Cannot tell on this site why - no huge sales (and my purchase this morning recorded as a sale!) but chunky markdown. What have I bought into? Oh well, time to grit my teeth for a while. At least I can afford a small stake in a loser to offset some gains.
Your comments really make me smile. They are so far away from achieving the share based targets that it is impossible now to achieve them. The targets were based on them achieving profitability in the relatively short term, and they have massively messed up on that. Even the CFO has now jumped ship. Do you really think he would have done so if there was any possibility of it? Joker.
You clearly aren't in the for the long run, or at least haven't been for the last 10 years ! This isn't a 'make a quick buck' stock and never has been - they are in a transition as most R&D entities are and if you actually read behind the figures you will see this. Of course there is the possibility that additional placings may be required to assist with their plans but again this has been an ongoing process since inception as it is with all R&D based companies You either take that at face value and accept its a long term proposition or you don't get involved at all Personally I'm happy with the progress since JB came in and if you actually look at the share options the board have in place they are committed to getting the value back or those options are actually worthless to them Long term hold and I for one will not be offloading for 12m+
Well I trebled up my rather modest first purchase. Now I have digested the figures I see where d1no is coming from. They spent too much last year and ended up with a 3m loss. But if they are right in their plan (big IF) and they do gross 13M next year and reduce the spend, there is scope for a turnaround. The R&D may well come up with new product too. This is a science-based share being run as a microcap so there is always the risk of more cash being needed but the end-product should be sought after and they have been around long enough now to know how to exploit it. There is also the possibility of a takeover. I am in for at least a year.
Positive results ?? You are joking? This is a complete basket case. IMO they will run out of cash within 18 months and be passing the begging bowl around again.
IMO better than expected results for the current business climate, granted the $ has influenced the results to an extent, but all the same we are going in the right direction Encouraging that despite the highlighted increased spending in areas the bottom line hasn't suffered Onwards and upwards and keep up the good work JB, DJ et al
FT Weekend list of cos reporting has this for 9th Oct. Lets hope for a decent annual profit.
I've been in here since I worked for the company up to 5 years ago - great story but continually struggled to really break through. I'm still on board and only topped up a few months ago (100k shares now) and still hopeful the journey will have a great ending as it's my pension pot / nest egg The historical 'exit plan' up to 2012 within the company was the 2 mark but I've now re evaluated over the last few years to a hopeful 1 as I still have upmost faith in the company, it's technology, and the whole eco story it is enveloped in ! Hoping for more good news on Monday re the half year results but I won't be jumping ship either way GLA
I,m in with 50p target
It appears we may have RNS as early as that.
Apologies for getting Brubaker name wrong. Just heard his Oct last year interview online and virtually all sales are in foreign currency so benefit from sterling's fall. Also noticed market has spare stock today from 'large' sale so figured I could try and get my foot on the rung quite cheaply. Probably the smallest dabble I've had for years but at less than 27.4p I thought it was worth jumping aboard. (At least I can't lose much right now!) Now I have an interest I may well top up depending on news etc. Will now diarise probable RNS dates.
Just stumbled onto PIM and looked at RNS and Calendar here. Placing in July at 31p and can pick them up cheaper now with figures and AGM coming up soon. Bit of a gamble but they only have to get the first bit of science right for the punters to be fighting for them. I think I shall look up Mr Brubecker first and if I do buy, it will be incre (!) mentally.
Trying to do due diligence here. Any science buffs out there who can point to research, broker recommendations etc. As a small co it is difficult to get real understand on whether this a good value.
Hopefully right time to top up with another 24k shares at 35.27p, a little extra bonus if they start to trickle up again after the losses of the last few weeks ! GLA
