"Tim Deere-Jones, an independent marine pollution researcher, believes the dredged mud could be more radioactive than first feared and the tides in Wales could cause the waste to be transferred from the sea into land." https://www.somersetlive.co.uk/news/somerset-news/edf-energy-says-radioactive-mud-788419 https://beyondnuclearinternational.org/2020/02/16/stirring-up-trouble/ "Data from the government funded “Radioactivity in Food and the Environment” (RIFE) reports for 2016, 2017 and 2018 show that EDF’s dredging of underwater sediment and shoreline construction work at Hinkley Point have resulted in significantly increased radioactivity levels in the environment.
EDF’s operations have disturbed radioactive particles from the Hinkley Point A and B nuclear power stations, which had been relatively contained within the sediments, resulting in them now being detected at far higher levels than before the dredging began."

"Richard Doll was seen as a great scientist, but in fact he was a manipulator of science. For example, he was well paid by various industries to belittle scientific truth." -Lloyd Morgan, Senior Research Fellow at the Environmental Health Trust.

"The general fear of nuclear radiations
was enhanced by the discovery of seven
cases of childhood leukaemia between
1955 and 1983 in Seascale in Cumbria near
the nuclear reprocessing plant at Sellafield.
This number seemed to be greater than
would be expected by chance, and it
received much publicity. It was, however,
very difficult to see how these cases could
be blamed on Sellafield, since the amount
of radiation emitted from that plant is far
smaller than the natural background.
Another possible mechanism to account
for the Sellafield cluster was suggested in
1987 by Gardner, who postulated that the
children developed leukaemia as a result
of their fathers’ exposure to nuclear radiation.
He collected statistics that showed a
significant correlation between paternal
radiation dose and leukaemic children."
"However, over subsequent decades, Doll drastically changed his views and gradually emerged as a major defender of corporate industry interests. This role, still virtually unrecognized, has been reinforced by his key influence in U.S. and other cancer establishments worldwide. In these overlapping roles, Doll has trivialized or dismissed industrial causes of cancer, which he predominantly attributed to faulty lifestyle, particularly smoking."
"In 1987, Doll dismissed evidence of childhood leukemia clusters near 15 U.K. nuclear power plants (58). Faced with evidence of a 21% excess of lymphoid leukemia in children and young adults living within ten miles of these plants, Doll advanced the novel hypothesis that "over clean" homes of nuclear workers rendered their children susceptible to unidentified leukemia viruses (59)."
Doll was a sellout. He sold his opinion to the highest bidder. http://www.preventcancer.com/losing/other/doll.html
"In 1988, Doll claimed that the excess mortality from leukemia and multiple myeloma among serviceman exposed to radiation from atom bomb tests was a "statistical quirk" (60). Doll revisited this study in 1993 and eliminated the majority of cases which developed within two years of exposure, claiming that such short latency disproved any possible causal relation (61)."
pre-conception radiation exposure and risk of a child developing leukaemia. "
See journal of cancer article by the late professor sir Richard doll, rural population mixing can now.be taken as established as the cause of clusters of infant lymphoblastic leukemia cases including the seascape cluster. NOT radiation.
Oh for pity's sake that is not nuclear waste !!
Brilliant Light Power shows alot of promise. They are talking of using MHD (Magneto HydroDynamic) Plasma Reactors in automobiles and shipping. They will be smaller than both batteries and combustion engines, have higher efficiency &release no harmful emmissons.I've proposed that they can use Di-Methyl Ether in their reactor for the best hydrogen yield ..Considering the plasma reactor energy density, a smallCO2 release from DME can be ignored. If someone thinks otherwise, let me know. I think if this got money from legacy automakers like Toyata or Ford, it could be in cars, using a fuel best derived from natural gas, by 2030.

Yes, these nuclear operators will be forced to clean up all around the coasts at immense cost.
If only there were an viable alternative to nuclear energy that produced no radioactive byproducts, and even produce zero carbon emissions...
