Just had a quick look at Pizza Express. I think they used to have 627 restaurants in 2019, but had only £40m profit with £1.1bn debt!!
Fulham Shore have a better product and better pricing and only about 1% of the debt but 10% of the restaurants!
If they keep their heads down and do some deals into former restaurant locations then I really do think they could get much bigger from here.
Didn't David Page say that converting an existing restaurant was about £200k versus £500k starting in a blank space? Their £20m could buy a lot of restaurants!
Looking good. Took out a leveraged position as well last week, as Restaurant Group SP has been rising very nicely, and this hadn’t followed suit. Bingo today. Banked a nice profit this PM. Might treat myself to a pizza at the weekend!
Nice update.
£20m ready to invest and there are a lot of opportunities on the high street for more shops!
There are going to be some great sites available to Fulham Shore, with heavily discounted lease deals over the coming months, and they have stated that they are on the hunt for good new sites. This is a share that seems to be under investors’ radar for some reason, but I fully expect this to be a good performer.
Two chunky 635,000 buys after hours.
Pizza Express are closing more shops.......
Just got back from my local Franco Manca - great food again. Not busy in there but people still coming in. I see that the menus are more varied and they have taken away the mandatory free tap water. I guess they are aiming to slowly ramp up the revenue.
Love this share. Bought it a few weeks back at 7.88. Surprised it isn’t more popular, as I think it has all the credentials to do very well coming out of COVID, and in times when folks are watching the pennies. I think the idea of them picking up some good sites, due to closures by others is also an interesting one. I’ll do some research into what their strategy is in this regard, as I’m in the commercial property sector, and will share anything that is of interest that can be shared on a public forum.
This is my fifth post in a row on here. Is no-one else interested?
These guys could pull a 5 bagger out from here in a few years IMHO.
I wonder how the indebted chains are going to close their restaurants?
Will Fulham Shore be able to pick and choose and buy them one at a time or will the chains want to sell in a chunk? It must be a very interesting time, but I do hope that we can pull a big rabbit out of the hat. Now must be the best time for us to expand.
I am hoping to hear they are expanding into those debt-laden defunct restaurant spaces soon!
They have the right idea - quality produce at great prices.
I like this company by the way. They have a great product, good management and some cash now to expand into 2021.
The buys and sells markers are only indicative and are decided on where they lie between bid and ask.
You can't rely on them at all - infact I am sure that sometimes the spread is manipulated to hide the true buy-sell amounts.
Thought have a pop at these don’t seem to have gone up as much as other similar companies...
Should be a 50000 buy but showing as a sell ? Bit odd.....

Stimulate the economy. Nice and will certainly support FUL
Suppose if you don't buy them now you will be at over 10p soon
Looks like they want your stock but will not sell you any in size. Trying to pick up 20K but going NT
Cannot buy in any size. Something going on
comptoir just did a 50% rise

The announcement of restaurants being able to open early next month should give this a nice kick higher. Seems stock is tightly held and sometimes difficult to buy in any size. See you at 10p+
July 4th restaurants opening up. Monday will buy again and see you at the bank.
