1. 'trading in the first quarter was in line with the board's expectations.' 2. 'Response to the TriDef SmartCam capabilities from other prospective distribution partners in the video conferencing market has been encouraging......... ' 3.'We are now focused on delivering more distribution agreements over the coming months' 4. 'broadening our reach with an Android version of TriDef SmartCam that can be used with smartphone and tablet apps."' ---------------- Perhaps Android is the key ?
showing as sells
Creature couldn't resist
Chris Yewdall, DDD's Chief Executive Officer said: "We have worked diligently to develop the new TriDef SmartCam solution for Windows and we have been pleased with the initial response from our prospective licensees and distribution partners. We are now focused on delivering more distribution agreements over the coming months as well as to broadening our reach with an Android version of TriDef SmartCam that can be used with smartphone and tablet apps."
Well - thanks a bunch to the mthrfkrs buying just now - I was just about to buy another 50k at 1.85 in the ISA, and now I can only buy 10k of shares at 2.20
DYOR but apparently to see smartcam working at it's best, you need something like a Lenovo Yoga 3 laptop below. Something to do with the processing speed. You may also need an additional good quality camera. Don't make the mistake of buying a cheap £169 ASUS which I will probably have to throw on eBay, or out of a third floor window onto concrete. http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/lenovo-yoga-3-11-6-2-in-1-white-10108707-pdt.html?gclid=CKy2uPWcgsYCFTPKtAod9BUA-A&srcid=198&cmpid=ppc~gg~~~Exact&mctag=gg_goog_7904&s_kwcid=AL!3391!3!48609771979!!!g!98525760739!&ef_id=VXaiFAAAAMEhInkv:20150609084724:s
Seems to work fine in tungsten lighting, no problem in replacing the background I won't be buying a PC ASUS again though - total ****e, worse than Windows 95 in my opinion.
I might also upgrade the camera if they are reasonably priced - will report back tomorrow.
Thank you creature. Useful report. I'm guessing that an upgraded camera would also improve the result as well as some extra ram?
I went out and bought a £169 ASUS Windows PC laptop today, with which to test Smartcam. It's all a bit sluggish and I don't think I've got enough RAM, so I'll try and add more tomorrow. I downloaded Smartcam and fired up the desktop version of Skype, which also had to be downloaded. It's very easy to set up........ Smartcam appears as an option in the Skype video settings. I think the lighting is quite critical. You need to be evenly lit and the background needs to contrast with you and your clothing. When you get the lighting and contrast right, Smartcam looks nice and tracks your outline very well. If you don't get the lighting and contrast right, then patches of the background appeared where they shouldn't have. Best not to be too close to the camera in my opinion, and best to experiment with different angles. I think it's better if the background is generally darker than the subject. What's impressive is how Smartcam seems to very accurately hold your outline during movement when the lighting and contrast are set up properly. The fun part of placing yourself on say The Great Wall of China works well, looks good and is quite amusing. Get the lighting right and I think this is a top product, although I've only had limited use so far today. I hope to try a few more tests with more RAM on the laptop and I might try altering the lighting etc but initial impressions are good considering the laptop is probably not really fast enough. The fact that it integrates so easily with Skype makes me wonder if Skype are future potential partners.
All we need now is a partnership with say Skype, and the sp will rocket imo. We could also do with a couple of director buys for very material amounts. May 28th 'Cool new app for @Skype replaces background. Fun, easy, no #GreenScreen. @TriDef3D http://ow.ly/Nznp2 ' http://twitter.com/genmeinc
non exclusive distribution agreement - more to come?
take a look at x-split on youtube - see how they use green-screen at the moment - smartcam means no more green-screen complications
The first of many distribution agreements imo......... http://www.investegate.co.uk/ddd-group-plc--ddd-/rns/tridef-smartcam-distribution-agreement/201506010700367323O/
good coms from the top - my guess is that they will partner with someone like QQ with a license deal. I asked about the vids that we don't have access to (below) - I looked up the DDD job title for the person who uploaded the technical videos. Where's the sp going to go if they secure a license deal with say QQ? Only 33% of the shares are in public hands. DYOR. http://i.youku.com/u/UMTc5MTg3OTgyOA==
I thought. building blocks for the year ahead.
yep, encouraging - I wonder if Skype/QQ etc will bundle it into their software as an option
Encouraging news - await some positive reviews from users - will it prove to be a 'must have' . The jury's still out but seemingly considering further evidence!
'Importantly, as a software application, TriDef SmartCam does not require any special hardware such as a 3D sensor or 'green screen' to perform the background replacement. This solution is both highly cost effective and easy to distribute as it has been created to ensure that it is already compatible with many popular Windows software applications, which already have hundreds of millions of users globally.'
'Based on DDD's extensive image analysis expertise and technologies, TriDef SmartCam has been developed in close collaboration with some of the world's leading video conference and game video software developers with millions of test sequences having been processed to refine the performance of the algorithms used in the solution.' ------------
