Sold the ACA lots...
Bought more MTRO
Total holding now stands at 33k on average of £2.76 ...
Looking forward for good gains here...a little more patience!
Good bye guys at ACA..it has been great .
Good luck..
Best go on foot Super. PS. Metro BANK fell another 7%. Surely this is now really great value and time to go catch that falling knife..bargain of the century surely as this used to be way higher??? Then again...:-0 !!!!
Franky -no worries, I try not to make any too, and find I have always made some - for me it is an age related problem I am sure. Or as you say knackered!! Yes I agree I never did like the Metro - would always prefer to walk, ha,ha!! I remember when I first worked in Elder St. at the age of 16, I would catch the train up to Cannon St. and then the circle line, and then realized if I cut through the alley ways through where the old post office used to be I could make Liverpool t. in Ten mins (quicker than the Tube, so I never bothered after that with the Metro, Ha.ha.
Sorry about the typos. Knackered-))!
Hi Super..yes it's a risky place..I can see a big rally happening though and may be late money to be made as still hink a full recession is still a while away. Equally still good for gold as can see half point cut and cant see that it's been priced in. Surprised barrick shares is trading water but hopefully storing energy to break out on top side. Happy sticking to this until after we get our dividend and transfer happens. Thanks god we re not in metro.
Safer place to be here than with other shares at the moment!!!
Franky - my fears are for the others moving out into other shares what with seeing Metro bank moving down 3.42% today, and the NYSE down 661 points, and hope it is not the start of a rout.
In this uncertain political World there is a message there somewhere.
Whereas before I was not keen on having Barrick shares for my Acacia, I now see then as a very good investment. That is how the World has changed where more and more govts are moving over from Balancing to Gold, rather than foreign currency.
I am still sure most that have left this share will come back in later, or while they have a chance.
Like Fidelity and other Fund managers are doing I would even be coming in here for some protection from when the market crashes (which could be coming soon).
Get the calculator out and work out Barricks EPS and they are only at the start of their recovery. I only intended to invest in ACA short term for a year or two but now see me keeping put for another 12 months+. Patience is key as Barrick will slowly build up and am expecting 30 dollars + within 12 months. As always it won t be linear!!-)
Today - This is looking like a very, very good place to be (many have taken profits already but Gold is now only just starting to move up fast). This is a very unpredictable Political world we are in which supports the precious metals. Also low Growth in many Countries will encourage the respective central banks to ut their rates (which will help Gold further). I see a lot of growth here both short and long term.
Super.....
Yes you may achieve more with hope ,potentials and predictions but to be quite honest I don’t believe in all three as this is a risky strategy for my way of investing. Taking real profits never wrong at any stage but hoping for more may end to be a big mistake and missed a good chance of taking a good profits earlier. This applies to me as I bought at £1.57 and selling now with decent profits is a safer way.
I have been in this game for a very long time and learnt my hard lessons in the past and become rigid in my strategy . Everyone to his way of playing in this big casino that no body has the 100% perfect way to unlock the mystery of being a winner all the time. As long as you end in real profit then you are right and I never buy a share unless it fulfills certain metrics and has a good experienced BOD.
With the very best on whatever you invest in with the others who are staying put.
I really enjoyed your posts and many others here.
Chaps, just saw the good news on North Mara and noticed the SP. Congratulations to all who held. This is probably 13% higher than where I sold. Luckily I've also made good returns in the stock I bought with the ACA money. But glad to see you're all doing well.
Why sell if a share is rising sharply and has potential to rise a lot more? I understand the basis of selling when a share falls, however my feeling is that is the time to wait an either buy some more or wait again and buy when it is felt it hits rock bottom. Sometimes it can take three to five years to realize ones position. I remember Warren Buffet say if it is less than two years it is a short term investment. See Mining news link, it seems Mark Bristow is just starting work on Acacia? your call :-

Personally I wouldn't touch a share that has fallen from £40 to £3, it may recover but looks very high risk. Shares with negative momentum often continue to fall and Metro certainly has negative momentum. Falling deposits, dropping interest margin and the need to sell a £521m loan portfolio to shore up liquidity certainly don't shout buy to me.
Thx Supercharge..
Set a target for your shares to realise profits and also when to sell to cut losses...play safe and take extra care.
Dreams also have to end..and investing is very different and never emotional.
I will sell the rest of aca this week as I passed my profit target and for me aca had been great investment. I did not like MB dealings with his aca offer and do-not like to invest with Barrick because of him at the helm.
I wish you all the very best.
Good luck whatever your preferences. However I am staying in here.
Seems everyone is a winner today..
Waiting for mtro to close over £3..and not quite sure where we will be with aca...?2.51 or there about,
Guys..since I sold some of my aca at 2.50 and bought mtro at 2.82 average.......aca gone up by 1.5 p and mtro by 16 p.....so in my case today mtro gained more for me !
I need another holiday!
Wow up another 3%.My first holding now over 10% profit. My wifes £20,000 is now in profit at £2.52 and my remaining holdings are getting closer to profit. I have no intention of cashing in and would have bought yours Hash given half the chance. I do not see any reason to sell now at all. We are going to accelerate when the ban is lifted on the composites and the containers, which I understand the Port Authority wants to shift as the fire at the port last weekend to an oil tanker has made this more of a priority. I may even buy some more here, just like Blackrock and Fidelity are doing (who must be laughing their socks off with their profits), and as you say Franky we are working at even more of a discount now ABX is also moving upwards of 2% in afternoon trading.
Blimey...the cynic in me is seeing someone trying to catch a falling knife whilst forsaking around 7-8% return on ACA post dividend and exchange rate. If I m missing something then more fool me.
Franky...
Yes you maybe right but not much lower at this point and the more you look at its metrics now the more safe it seems. Previously 25/7 When it was hovering around £5 I thought then it was well overpriced and waited for it to go down towards its future cash value Pre dilution of £2.67 .
:::)
I have in fact added more few minutes ago so my average now £2.82!
Time will tell.
Sold some Aca at £2.50 today.,!
??? Oh dear. Cheaper than yesterday doesn't equate to value. I predict the y ll go way lower. Good luck though!
BB....
MTRO looks better value now.
Bought at £2.86
Scheme of arrangement for consideration by the Business Court being sent out to shareholders seeking for 75% approval, these will then be considered by the court to approve the takeover of Acacia by Barrick.
If we do have anyone else tracking Acacia they will now have to come out of the woodwork, with the Gold price now back over 1500oz we look cheap, but do appear to have the Govt. of Tanz.support., and promise of an additional divi later.
Very good news and confirms that the G.O.T. approve of the Barrick takeover, however they have said they want see a feasibility study which no doubt will be one going forward that has to involve Barrick's input. I am hoping this can then lead to the composites in the containers also being released which will really provide a substantial increase for outpt which surely also the Govt. will ultimately benefit from and especially if some of the additional profits can be reinvested into the local infrastructure. This could be the start of the release of the "GOLD dust". Hope so anyway.
