All this share needs is time. That is all. If you bought a pair of shoes in a shop for a quarter of the price they were a few months ago, you'd be well happy. People should be happy here too! Patience is a virtue, virtue is a grace. this is a graceful board! Take a look on IAG's bb if you want to see some warfare going on! LOLOLOL
Finch was headhunted. i.e. A company saw that this was a bloke who has overseen YOY growth for the last 10 years & we want him! he would have been dangled a great big carrot to leave NEX. Who can blame him for going, anyone else would. NEX will be doing headhunting themselves. It's all part of the process at those levels but in the end noone is indispensable & Finch's successor may well outperform him. Only time will tell!
Most shares retrace across the daym doubly so if America goes down... Like is happening to a few shares right now for example.
"Lets be honest here. Who will leave their current job in the present climate? "
Finch. Not only did he leave but he left early desput saying he would stay on until a CEO was appointed later in the year.
91Jonmo. You are right in your synopsis that the concept of LTH has sort of gone out the window with the volatility created by C19 & investors staying in one share have clearly lost out as there have been opportunities to jump in & out of quite a number of shares, pocketing 10-20% profit each time. When NEX eventually takes off, you will see a lot of people bailing out & profit taking at around 180. This in understandable & i can't knock someone for taking the gains. I'll hang in here till at least 250 though & see how it looks then. Once it reaches these higher levels you tend to notice the quick profiteers are gone & the serious cash is involved (Institutions etc) that is when serious money can be made here as those folk aren't price sensitive when they want a stake in a business. This share was 485 in Jan/Feb & will be there & higher in the future!
While it is frustrating that they haven't yet appointed a new CEO. John Armitt is an old hand & he will take as long as it takes to get the right person. Lets be honest here. Who will leave their current job in the present climate? They will obviously be looking for someone experienced so that person will already be on a big salary package etc. Finch was on just south of £2m a year here so for sure they'll get a lot of interest as it's a high profile number (& yes Noggers he was headhunted for loads more wedge). My personal view is they'll probably appoint Davies (current CFO & interim CEO) as he's a safe pair of hands who's been there a while & done a good job in finance. Lack of CEO experience may go against him though, & they'll then still need to fill the finance job. The worst thing they could do would be to appoint the wrong person as Armitt won't do that!
Well last Persimmon CEO got a £75m bonus which is a little excessive ;-) From memory it was more a reflection of change in government housing policies that drove it rather than his actual performance/contribution so went down like a lead balloon. Was in his contract though so I guess you could say fair play!
They will announce a new CEO as soon as they appoint one, but they take quite a long time to get the right person for the job.
I just wonder if Dean Finch was head hunted by Persimmon, and I wonder if NEX couldn't give him the same salary and benefits that Persimmon could give him.
The last CEO at Persimmon got a fantastic bonus i think it were in millions because I think there were a bit of controversial about how much it were, don't know how much Finch got in benefits at NEX but I don't think it will be on a par with Persimmon.
It's a waste of time getting worried about a few percent here and there. It might be weeks, it might be months but when it breaks out a few percent will make no difference... it will probably do 100% over a week of trading days.
Same old same old with this share at the moment does really well first thing, only to retrace back as the day goes on.
Hold fellas
Laboured rise here. Weird
They are forcasting the FTSE to rise by around 57 points today, lets see if this follows it.
