Italian

Brixton and A/P both suited to theatre -
AlbertPode,
Thank you for your message, it’s certainly very motivating.

Modeller would be better off buying into the tech company that supplies Melody -----------------------
Good idea Modeller. Stick with gold. You might do better at that.
Coming on here, arguing with the likes of A1EX and Lord, who know at least ten times more than you do, is a poinless exercise.
@IFOXXX - That's a good point and one even I hadn't thought of - you could of course discount that merch for ticketholders ...
Ferrisc
i know just putting down the amazing potential we have , as Fox says the more we think about this the better it gets .
i cant see one negative here , great posts on here today . and the permutations are staggering .
£2 for a show is way too low LF.
With Coldplay being watched by 40 countries and a i guess a lot of the A listers being near that .
could Melody charge 50p per song and £2 for a show and Sat £10 for a festival . how many other countries
would open up to Melody ------------------------
I don't often like being told I'm completely wrong but I'd take it this time round LORD FONT.
I've been sat here this morning thinking about the standard concert vs MelodyVr's
What's MelodyVr's missing and what it could do better.
Here's one example, typical concert and outside the venue or stage there may be 15 stalls (each stall costs money to setup) with 15 people (all need paying) selling the merchandise of that particular band.
Now imagine, Imagine Dragons have just finished their set. Ed Sheeran is on next,
Imagine Dragon's lead vocalist pops off with saying
"Listen guys if you loved out set and would love some T's or Hoodies we have some fantastic gear on the link on your screeen - its free shipping and next day service on Amazon. Your support has been great - Thank you"
Again, how much actual merchandise can you take to sell at a concert vs how many pictures you can fit on a website? Cost of selling it at the venue vs cost of an online presence?
MelodyVr whether people like it or not is going to be huge.
Thx - spot gold up 0.38 on a DFB
Fox
sorry i completely disagree with your numbers , i think you have undervalued :)
Agreed Italian. I recall that being raised and it did turn out to be significant. Amazing to think that we could have 50+ (however many O2 Academy's there are around the UK) venues from which we could broadcast. I invested in this (a long time ago) due to the potential reach of one off live shows, i hadn't thought too much about scaling and having multiple live shows per week or even day. The business model here is gold dust, which is why i don't worry too much about revenue generation and more about reach.
Modeller
Watch the news unfold , keep hold of those gold bars , do you know of any other share that has the opportunity/possibilities and the future deals that will be happening in the coming year ??
https://news.samsung.com/global/samsung-and-live-nation-team-up-to-stream-coldplay-live-in-virtual-reality
Its the online reach of these concerts which makes me x that 132,000 figure by 10.
50 countries tunes into Coldplay. Although we don't know the lineup just yet we can all agree that the Wireless lineup focused mainly on UK/US RAP R&B GRIME. Very, VERY narrow profile of people who like that ( I like some by the way I'm not slating).
Now, imagine with this Livenation event we have a much more varied set of artists and bigger names. Wireless had some big names but not many and still did well.....
The big BIG names can now watch the entire wireless set and I think they'll be nothing sort of impressed.
lordfont,
Further to your earlier post , the best outcome for MVR is indeed to be 'swallowed' as part of a lateral integration. Whilst I am certain that MVR has an appetite for an expeditious transaction - given the company's P&L, I fear it will ultimately only be priced as AV production company with streaming capability.
Best wishes,
TM
also robidicus i think his point about o2 pushing it is interesting.i know there was not much response on here to the fact that o2 tweeted from all their venue sites on sunday afternoon(i think that was it but not completely sure) in a coordinated way to push wireless.i actually thought that was highly significant.just my opinion of course.no comment on figures.its all just guesswork.wait for the facts.
And then theatre .
100 million fans with all that money in uk/us ---- no shows for at least 18 months with covid back in winter .
pay £10 / £20 a show ------------
and the 500 million fans on the rest of the planet , how many will pay to watch to 2 greatest theatre giants . this is HUGE !!
IFOXXX, whilst I agree with your overall point, I think those assumptions are someway out. Don't forget that 132k people tuned in for free, in my view about 10-15% of these would actually pay. No idea what the price point would be but my instinct is that your assumption is high.
What I do agree with is the scale and the uncapped reach, which means that, for the right artist, you could reap huge revenues from one show or a sequence of shows.

£65 +£8 BOOKING FEE - DAY PASSES
£175 + £15 BOOKING FEE - WEEKEND PASS
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/newsbeat-45964105#:~:text=It%20wanted%20a%20limit%20on,current%20maximum%20capacity%20is%2049%2C999.
ATTENDEES - 37,000
So we will do some sums here based on the above figures and basing it on a 70:30 split.
DAY PASS 70% (£73) * 25900( ATTENDEES) - £1,890,700
WEEKEND PASS 30 % (£190) * 11,100(ATTENDEES) - £2,109,000
£3,999,700
So what would be their costs? How much would the lighting, stage, security, sniffer dogs, toilets, clean up cost?
Compare that to this weekends wireless...
132,000 people tuned in
https://www.sharecast.com/news/aim-bulletin/melodyvr-partners-with-live-nation-for-virtual-concert-series--7567540.html
132,000 people which is more than 3.5x the previous attendance.
What would have been the production costs? How many hundreds of people LESS would have had to have been paid?
I'm quite frankly buzzing on the edge of my seat.
Live Nation's event -
More publicised
Mix of Genres (not very narrow as was Wireless)
Would it be outrageous to say the testing ground has happened, the next one will be 10x as big.
The costs to the vr concert goer however will be a 1/5 of the costs.
Heres what I believe to be very conservative figures...... (I think its been overlooked its at an O2 venue and O2 will be pushing it out like there's no tomorrow).
132000* 10 = 1,320,000m people tune in.
They pay either for a day pass or a weekend pass
£19.99 or £49.99 (PEOPLE WONT PAY THAT? I PAY £27 A TIME FOR BOXING FOR 12 ROUNDS!)
70:30 SPLIT
£38,266,800
Now the pessimists or the ultra conservative of you may say my figures are 5x more than they would actually be - ID BE HAPPY WITH THAT!
Do your own research I've only done some sums based on published definitive numbers, do your own sums depending on how conservative or excited you are!
I'm not selling till we get to above 50p!
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Apple WILL buy this out in my opinion. They did it with Beats, they'll do it with this! Little known fact is that Apple bought beats not just because of their headphones but because of their app and (relatively small) userbase of that app being a huge contributor too.
3 billion I think it went for.......
