Another disappointing finish again, guess it needs to push a bit harder before breaking out. Shouldn't be long now.
It's 'a' not 'an'UT, sorry for the bad grammar..... hahahaha
It started off with an UT of 115.50p, how wonderful! Although it has dropped back a little, this only indicates that it will go higher in the longer run if there will be no more nasty bad news of another fund raising. Let's look forward to 118p then.....or even 120p before the declaration of next dividend some time round about December 18.
GLA and have a nice day everyone.
Last time I sold DEC was before it went ex-div. So I still don't know anything about the tax issue yet. Maybe this time I'll hold for the next divi and see what will happen then.
Bit disappointed at the end of the day for GSF but never mind. No shares go straight up. It will go higher some time soon I believe, only need a bit of patience here.
No I hadn't come across TMIP @K, I've added it to my watch list, and surprisingly I am allowed to buy it with I-web (although I never know for certain until I press the buy button. I don't think you have learned anything from my style of investing, except the rule of chaos perhaps. I try different things, some I win on, others I lose, but first of all it's a hobby. One day I will master it. I always have a list in front of me of the next quarters ex-dividend dates, and am trying to focus on the next three weeks to see what I think will rise enough to double up my holdings and dividends, and then cut back or sell out. Whatever happens, the last year has been amazing for both dividends and capital gains. After my AIM disaster, I am back in profit in my ISA, but still a long way to go elsewhere.
@sidi - I bought a few DEC back with X-O after getting assurances about the tax. That was at 117, so I had to add to that at 103p. I'll wait and see what dividend I get now. People over at the DEC board certainly know how to panic.
Yes adv11, got out of DEC at 112p and I bought back 75% two days ago at 102.7p....hahahaha
Good to see you both are still here. So far so good hey? Let's see if this will break 120 then. Good luck my friends. Enjoy you weekend.
Yes I'm in here for the long term too. If it gets to c. 120 I might trim a few off so I can buy more in the next fundraise but I doubt it will go that high. I'm about 3/4 of the way to my long-term target of 15,000 shares here. I must admit, I've learned a lot from adv11's style of investing, although I don't limit myself to quarterly dividend payers. Have you guys had a look at TMIP? The company buys second-hand vessels and is leasing them out on either short-term, very high-return contracts or medium-term, high-return contracts. It's not my usual type of investment, but they're targeting a 7% dividend going forward and, when you've got the likes of John Lewis leasing ships to ensure supply, you know it's a good time to look at maritime investments. GLA, have a great weekend.
Sure are, I have trimmed my portfolio a bit over the past weeks. Got rid of most quarterly dividend payers who have dropped below 4 percent per annum, and I've identified around half the rest that are long term holds (like Gore) and the other half that are potentially worth trading between dividends. I dislike doing this but so many people do now, it is creating a trend.
It allows me to trade off profits against some loses, but more importantly, means I hold a higher percentage of cash looking for opportunities, and being prepared for the inflation that is coming. Still sticking with quarterly dividend payers though.
Bet you are glad you got out of DEC "sidi".
It's moving up again. I hope you LTHs are still holding....
Oh I see. Cheers. Just wondered
No particular reasons but just because 116p was the last highest point before the retrace.
If you dont mind me asking, why are you fixared on 116?
Heading up to 114p now. Perhaps tomorrow or next week will see this going back to 116p.....happy trading everyone.
No adv11, I am not in AP. Only recently bought into TGA. The price of coal has driven the sp crazy but has pulled back a little today. I topped up and hoping it will finish in blue........lol
Are you in Anglo Pacific sidi ? (talking of coal). Last day to get in before three dividends in 13 weeks, and it's down today. I've done very well out of AP over the years, although it is undergoing changes.
Yes k, it does seem that the worst is now over. Well, let's hope so anyway. Good to see the SP heading up slowly. Won't be long before we see 116p once again. So, good luck everyone.
Going along very nicely isn't it sidi? No wonder, wholesale gas price up another 30%. Countries desperately need the technology GSF is investing in.
Someone just paid 113p, only 3 more p from 116p now, yay!
Up another penny, now 4 and a half p to go. Will get back to 116p soon. That's really wonderful!....
That's wonderful but I am still waiting for mine and also were told by PB that RHR is pulling out of their IPO due to unfavorable market conditions I guess.
Out of my 5 PB subscriptions, only GROW(Draper Esprit) is in profit. The other 4 still unable to pull far away from their offer prices......very poor luck eh?
GROW: offer price 800p price now 978p
GHE: offer price 910p price now 907p
PRSR: offer price 103p price now 101.5p
ASLI: offer price 109p price now 109p
LOOPUP: offer price 25p price now 25.9p
Received my PB shares this afternoon, small profit already.
2p up for the day, there will be more to come for tomorrow....hehe
....going up slowly but surely..... Here's to onwards and upwards!!... let's get back to 116p!......lol
