I could be completely wrong but I always interpret sudden drops that sharp as a short because a short floods the market with sells which lowers the price. However I am happy to stand corrected if someone knows more about this than me ....?
Thanks!
This is always worth a read if you want an idea of MM manipulation

80,000 shares showed up as a sell in the two minutes the SP spiked down - looks like someone offloaded a large block and so the MM's took the price right down..
mind that your limb doesn't break !
mmm strange stuff
will see if any significant delayed trades
take no notice mama. must be having a bad day ??
Im a newbie, and it was a sudden large drop which concerned me thats all.
Tried to buy on the drop but no chance. Did pick up another 5k at 159p on spec.
Mamalicker1.... and? Shares go up and down in price.
I think it went to auction when it dropped, there was no buying down there. Bodes well.
I was able to buy in at 162p but then it dropped further?
Wichtig... on the limited posts you have I am going to go out on a limb and suggest investing in shares may not be for you.
looks like they are trying to get down there again
I saw this. Sudden swing from about 170 to 154. 100% agree with Starjump.
Very short-lived downward spike to about 154. I bet there was no stock to buy down there if you had been fast enough to try. Clearly a cynical raid on stop losses IMO, but I don’t have the level 2 feed to verify. But it would mean MM’s either need stock now to meet buy orders, or are loading up ahead of the anticipated good news.
It’s a good sign basically. Also, an illustration of why never to set stop losses on AIM. It’s like playing poker with an open hand.
Peeps in val have to cash in here to cover losses.
That what happens when something is ramped in a boiler house.
My amateur guess is MMs triggered stop losses so they could fill a large order. Could also be someone making a large sell I guess but the price went back up very quickly.
Why the SP dropped?
