robdabank, the tone is positive and a bit of fun scattered in there. I am personally very fit and healthy and I am not a covid-19 denier. It just made me think that I should have that as a tagline.
friendsps - completely agree. The view from many in the pharma industry and scientific industry is that 2024 is the point where we will have vaccinated the whole world. I concur with your consultant friend with regards to the next month being critical, as further restrictions need to be adhered to and the number of cases are currently rising.
Hard to grasp your tone john but I hope you are fit and healthy. Helps protect against the DEADLY virus.
Just spoken to one of my clients and we discussed the new restrictions (I live in NI), he is hoping the next month of the new restrictions is critical to avoid the same infection rates we experienced in March. His words - the next month is going to be horrible and he is a hospital consultant.
He also said, it could be as long as 2024 for the whole world to be vaccinated and that is purely down to manufacturing and distributing the vaccines.
Signing off for the night to play football at the good old age of 53.
Government plans are for a vaccine in the new year. Everything is still on course for this.
I agree with you to some extent friendsps, for the Scientific Adviser to be positive is a good sign. Both the Scientific and Medcial Advisers gave their opinions on the three cases i.e. best, probable and worst. At worst we have no vaccine, probable scenario is by early next year and best (I've saved for last) is that we get a vaccine this year. One of the reasons for the glimmer of hope is that there are a number of UK based trialling vaccines and one hopes that from those one of them will make it.
Also with covid-19 medicines and better testing we are likely to head in the right direction. Fingers crossed, by this time next year we'll be waiting for H1 results 2021 and there will be sunny roads ahead.
"Nope. I'm not a covid denier or anything but I'm 33 I run and I exercise 6 out of 7 days a week. I think I stand a good chance."
I like your response Rob, I'll take a leaf out of your book.
Hi, I'm John, I'm also fit and healthy and I am not a Covid denier.
@Johnht,
I agree a balanced view should be considered and as you mentioned to me , friendsps, we need to be balanced here, what you describe are valid points - i.e. there is a possibility that we MIGHT have a vaccine by Christmas or early next year.
I have worked with Doctors for over 25 years and by nature they are very cautious. For the Scientific Adviser to be positive to me is very positive but there are no guarantees even though the UK are hanging their coat on vaccines for us to get back to normality. Only time will tell.

Robdabank, if you were on your dying bed, would you try Coronil Tablets by a black bearded Yogi?

I won't be taking any vaccines from other parts of the world without the vaccine being tested again properly.
As for vaccines, I am pretty sure that if you were on your back in a
hospital with a chance of dying from covid & the doctor said, we have this
drug that might work but it is from China, Pakistan, Russia or Uranus, lol
then it would be a no brainer.
Think ill take my chances with the virus.
I think I’ll give all 3 of them a miss
friendsps, we need to be balanced here, what you describe are valid points - i.e. there is a possibility that we MIGHT have a vaccine by Christmas or early next year. But as you may already be aware vaccines aren't always the easiest to develop. For all we know, people may end up with spinal-cord diseases after taking rushed through vaccines.
That means that there is also the very real possibility that we could be looking at July 2021.
This is how you manage the control of the virus by mass testing.

Ok, thank you.
SMALL amounts of a coronavirus vaccine could be ready before the end of the year, according to the Government’s chief scientific adviser.
Sir Patrick Vallance said a number of candidates have shown they can generate an immune response that ought to be protective. He added: “It is possible that some vaccine could be available before the end of the year for certain groups.”
Health Secretary Matt Han**** told ITV’s This Morning a “mass roll-out” of a vaccine could be seen in the early part of next year.
He said: “There’s still a chance of it coming on stream before Christmas.
“The first people who will get it are the most vulnerable — people in care homes and older people.”
The countries mentioned are not best at being transparent with their clinical trial data and therefore very difficult for our governments to accept their vaccines without scrutiny. Neither the UK or the US will accept their vaccines without conducting further tests. Therefore one shouldn't be pinning the hopes of the CINE share price on such vaccines.
What are you implying?
The Chief Scientific and Medical Advisers to the UK government and The White House in the US will NOT be backing the science behind the Chinese, Russian or Pakistani trials.
The CINE investors here may believe to know better, but it's important to keep things in perspective.
