Crumpets also made a good point that, perhaps, in the US going to the theatre/cinema is more a part of their culture.
Plus there are 360 million Americans just opening up from severe restrictions. Champing at the bit to get their old lives back. I myself am convinced that the next few months will move the SP north with the 'opening up' coupled with blockbuster movies. Once bums start to occupy cinema seats things will start to turn
Reminds me of last year when I picked up BP shares dirt cheap as the oil price bombed down to $20 barell.
Just do your research properly and have patience....
And above all.......don't base investment decisions solely on what us folks write on here......lol

Yip, the best thing we have right now is website like: box office Mojo.
This gives box office details globally and in particular USA where our business will be made or broken.
Doesn't give Cineworld specific numbers, but reasonable to assume we are attracting not too dissimilar cut as we were of the whole market pre pandemic.
Go U S A as few of us keep repeating.
UK as our second biggest market by far has some relevance, but let's not overstate it and the rest really has so little bearing anything other than very occasional passing comment is really waste of energies.
Good point made also re the machinery oiling up after rusting over and it won't be an overnight full recovery.
Any with sense will know this and there has been enough info from company on matter also.
Crumpets. Xxxxx
Brilliant as always.
https://ibb.co/s2JKNJq guess the 10-pm session fully booked out
The Pig speaks the truth.
Micro-analysing seat numbers in a seaside cinema in Britain won't help much.
The U.S is where we need to be looking at - where cinema is a major part of their leisure culture.
What we want to see from F9 is a healthy U.S opening weekend box office and moreso from Black Widow.
That will (hopefully) encourage and stimulate studios to ramp up their efforts and we'll see more marketing and re-arranged release dates.
But even then, this is a serious long term hold.
The entire industry is still only just starting to shake the rust off as it gears back up out of hibernation.
It will be a couple of years yet until the oil is hot and running at full throttle again.
During that time, we will have to repay debts and settle the score with Cineplex.
I expect positive movements in sp if:
- F9 does well
- Black Widow does better
- UK ends restrictions on the 19th
- H1 results show we are able to manage the debt and show we are well placed for the future
It will come good in the end but you're going to have to wait a good while to see serious returns here.
Although i certainly applaud the efforts to give us some idea of the numbers attending individual cinema's. Please don't forget that the US is by far Cineworld's largest market. To give a comparrison, in the UK here we have 102 sites showing 1,000 screens. Over in the US under the Regal name we have 546 sites with over 7,000 screens.

The US market is where Cineworld will either 'sink or swim'.
All in my opinion, of course

checked my odeon for bw and the seats numbers are decent. Shang chi trailer dropped today and no mention of Disney plus and only pure theatre. spiderman trailer will drop around bw and ppl will fully care about movies again
