Absolutely Hopin mate. Spot on.
My best mate is a surgeon in the NHS. Me and him don’t see eye to eye regarding lockdown - we even disagreed on the number of people who have had it. (He was 5-10%, I said 25-50%). An initially study from Sweden suggested 8% of the pop have had Covid - he rubbed it in my face, I told him this isn’t right. 2 days ago the study was revised, T-Cells found in Swedish covid survivors now suggests approximately 30% have had it in the country.
If you or anyone truly believes that 25% of the worlds cases are in the US - then you need a SERIOUS reality check. HA. What a joke, still giggling about it.
Omg. That last statement is such a misinformed one I had to force myself to even bother replying to it.
The 2 largest countries in the world (population wise) are India and China.
China - who knows how many they have / have had / will have. We will simply never know.
India - only started really testing mid - May / barely reached 100k tests a day even now. Even so, doubt is being cast on the whole testing system there in general. The US is doing 500,000 ish tests per day....
China and India make up ~35% of the World’s population. (2.8 billion).
What a useless thing to say “4% of the worlds pop but 25% of the Covid cases” - the only way you could compare it is if every country in the world was testing (roughly) at least the same amount per million and were also being as transparent as we are in the UK & US.
A UN team conducted a random test on 500 adult males in Kabul. 33% tested positive for COVID.
It is far more widespread than the numbers suggest. A little bit of common sense will bring anyone of sound mind to that conclusion.
Whats this got to do with anything? We already know the virus exists, we know we are living through a pandemic. Stop spreading fear and panic.
Coronavirus cases are rising in 40 out of 50 US states.
Experts say the Fourth of July holiday will make it worse.
Death rates remain steady for now.
More than 55,000 new US coronavirus cases were reported on Thursday. It marked a new all-time daily high, beating the previous record of 50,000 cases reported the day before.
Every year, the Fourth of July weekend sees millions of Americans head to beaches and parks to celebrate.
But, due to the threat posed by the virus, some states, like California and Florida, have moved early to close public beaches. Many of them had reopened in June following weeks on lockdown.
In Washington, DC, President Donald Trump is stirring up excitement for a July Fourth fireworks display set to be held in the city.
The city's mayor, Muriel Bowser, said the event contravenes government guidelines on mass gatherings.
As of Wednesday, the US — whose citizens make up 4% of the world's population — accounted for 25% of its coronavirus cases, CNN reported.
That's a pretty damning statistic.
