Contract win: SCISYS secures €2.8m contract with ESA-ESOC for ground station monitoring and control system tailoring

SCISYS Group PLC ("SCISYS" AIM SSY; ESM: SCC), the supplier of bespoke software systems, IT-based solutions and support services to the space, media & broadcast, government, defence and commerce sectors, is pleased to announce that SCISYS Deutschland GmbH has been awarded a contract with ESA-ESOC for Monitoring & Control (M&C) system tailoring services for the ESA Tracking Network (ESTRACK).

The anticipated contract value is for €2.8m, from 2019 lasting until 2023, with an option for an additional extension of 5 years. This contract is funded by the European Space Agency. It is included in existing market guidance.

ESTRACK is operated by the European Space Operations Centre (ESOC) and its network of ground stations supports various ESA spacecraft missions. The ESTRACK ground stations are all equipped with a central M&C system, which serves as the basis for providing the high level of automation achieved in the operation of this network of ground stations. SCISYS' Space division in Germany will be responsible for maintaining the operational status of the automated M&C system that supports individual spacecraft missions from these ground stations. SCISYS will also continue to evolve and expand the M&C system for new devices deployed at these stations over the contract period.

This important win underscores SCISYS Space's position as ground-segment experts and cements its standing as a long-term, trusted partner. SCISYS has provided a reliable service to ESTRACK since 2007.

Klaus Heidrich, CEO of SCISYS, said:

"I am pleased to announce this significant strategic win by SCISYS' Space division in Germany. SCISYS is proud to have supported ESTRACK for more a decade and this latest contract is testament to our position as trusted partners and suppliers of ground-segment solutions. Congratulations go to all the teams involved."
