SciSys Media Broadcast Division awarded major contract for Egyptian broadcast system

SciSys plc (AIM : SSY), ('SciSys' or the 'Company') - the supplier of bespoke software systems, IT based solutions and support services to the Media Broadcast, Space, Government & Defence, Environment and Applications Support sectors, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a major contract with ERTU, the Cairo based Egypt Radio and Television Union, to equip 20 on-air studios and over 120 journalists' audio workstations with its flagship dira! ™ production, playout and archive technology.

Klaus Heidrich, Director of the SciSys Media Broadcast Division commented: "This major project win comes as a welcome result of our initiative to expand the business to the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region. It will be one of the largest radio broadcast installations in the Middle East and will form a key reference site for SciSys in the territory."

The value of the contract is around £1.5 million, for implementation over the next 16 months followed by 2 years of support.

This contract is the second major win for SciSys' Media Broadcast Division this year, following the £9 million contract award by the BBC to provide a single scalable solution across the entire BBC estate for a true multimedia production environment.  It builds on the work which the division has been undertaking for a number of major broadcast clients over several years in the domain of integrated radio production and playout technology.
