Johnston Press PLC22 June 2005 For Immediate Release 22 June 2005 Johnston Press plc (the "Company") Directors' Shareholdings The Company has been informed that the following directors exercised optionsover ordinary shares of 10p each on 21 June 2005 under the rules of the JohnstonPress plc Executive Share Option Scheme. In order to fund the exercises and anytax and national insurance due on the exercises, each director sold ordinaryshares of 10p each on the same day at a price of 490.18p.
