Atkins to acquire US based nuclear business

WS Atkins plc ('Atkins' or 'the Group') is pleased to announce it has entered into an agreement to purchase Nuclear Safety Associates, Inc. (NSA), a 130 people engineering and technical services firm, with a focus on nuclear safety, design engineering, and professional security services.

The transaction remains subject to various conditions, including US Government approvals, and we will make a further announcement when this process completes.

This acquisition is in line with our strategy to be one of the world's leading energy consultancies, with the significant US nuclear market an area of focus for us. Nuclear Safety Associates will both enhance the capability of the Group's energy business and provide NSA the opportunity to expand its well established project and client base in the US nuclear market.
