The region's dependence on the power generated from the gas-based power plant operated by Focus Energy and supplied by Indus Gas is quite significant. This plant plays a crucial role in meeting the local electricity demand, particularly for industrial and residential consumers. The gas-based power plant provides a reliable and relatively cleaner source of energy compared to coal, which helps in stabilizing the grid and supporting the region's energy needs.
The flexibility and efficiency of natural gas power plants make them essential for balancing supply, especially during peak demand periods or when renewable energy sources are not available. Therefore, any disruption in the gas supply or the operation of the power plant could have notable impacts on the region's energy stability.
The power plant will not be decommissioned IMO, why would they have the outage to perform major maintenance works to then decommission it?
