Over 8% - could also move the price higher as they close out positions now!

In my view we have the following :- 1. In line profits - good! 2. No short term finance issues + good cash generation - suggesting :- 3. No cut of dividend 4. 21st Feb for strategy update (I wonder if they are to split the insurance business?) Agree that this should all have very positive lift on SP and move it back up to the 165-175 area IMHO

There must be something going on - up nearly 6% - sale of assets, increased holding, Thursday will tell!

not doing so well...with 14% of AA, 5% Card and nearly 10% of CPI - he must be feeling like it's 1926!

Oh I would say it's a good thing. It took a knock down to 1.21 today to flush out the sellers and as expected a nice rise into the close - I would hope for some follow though buying ahead of the pre-close on the 8th!

Pre-close statement on the 8th Feb should get this back in the right direction. Big positions being taken by DB (6.1%) and Classic Fund Management (3.1%) with Woodford holding 14% already. There is value in these @ January Sale prices - I am buying ;-)

Re-investment of next weeks divi payout and closing of shorts should also add support

SP reached 31p last week for a short while - once it gets though 30 again I think we will see it move upwards :-) imho

Indeed they have - no move from Ashley yet though - I think there will be!

Should be an interesting week of retail news. Would like this to pop into the 30's - perhaps news of Ashley increasing his holding might do it?

I crunched a few numbers tonight to see what Ashley's 21% is losing him :- DEB shares in issue 1,227,822,000 SPD holding 21% = 257,842,620 @ 65.9p = 169,918,286 Current Value = 257,842,620 @ 29p = 74,774,359 So he is down �95,143,926 oops! and how much does he want for Newcastle United �350m with a current DEB market cap at �355m If I was losing �95m - I would want the rest of it! Interesting! Bid of 40p / share?

There will be some big buying and closing - i also believe the numbers from the retailers next werk will be better than expected - supporting the sp - holding;-)

Yes, I noticed the share price spike towards the close (up at 31p at one stage) with some very large buys. Perhaps an RNS in a day or two reads Ashley upping his stake?

I too bought in below 28p this morning - here's why - Ashley owns 21% of this stock and 11% of House of Fraser - he lost over �13m this morning with the drop and could pick up a nice additional stake on the cheap. Also, could large short positioned be closed at these levels? Expect a further rise tomorrow in a small bounce back - IMO.
