Whiting IN crude unit to begin oil circulation next week -IIR Energy

NEW YORK, May 10 (Reuters) - Oil flows through BP Plc's 240,000 barrel per day crude unit at its Whiting,Indiana, refinery should begin early next week, with commercialproduction expected in early June, according to IIR Energy.

Construction of several new units at the plant, which isbeing modified to run more Canadian crude, has been completed,IIR Energy reported, including a 120,000 bpd delayed coker and a120,000 bpd gas oil hydrotreater.

Those units should begin to start up in mid-July withcommercial production seen late this year or in the firstquarter of 2014, according to IIR Energy.

BP has already introduced nitrogen flows into the crudeunit, called Pipestill 12, at the plant, according to IIREnergy. (Reporting by Matthew Robinson; Editing by Gerald E. McCormick)
