Unite Hires Ilaria Del Beato And Richard Akers As Non-Exec Directors

LONDON (Alliance News) - Student accommodation manager & developer Unite Group PLC said Monday that it appointed Ilaria del Beato and Richard Akers as non-executive directors.

Akers, who serves as senior independent director at residential property firm Barratt Developments PLC and non-executive director at real estate investment trust Shaftesbury PLC will join the board on September 1.

Ilaria del Beato will join on November 1. She is currently chief executive officer of housing firm Frasers Property UK.

"This is an exciting time for our business and I'm delighted to welcome both Ilaria and Richard to the board as non-executive directors," said Chairman Phil White.

"Their appointment reflects our ongoing commitment to utilising expertise from the best in the industry," added White.

Unite shares were trading down 1.2% at 834.00 pence each.
