UK EXECUTIVE CHANGE SUMMARY: John Menzies Chief Executive Steps Down

(Alliance News) - The following is a round-up of London-listed company director and manager changes announced on Thursday and not separately reported by Alliance News:

John Menzies PLC - Scotland-based aviation services company - Says Chief Executive Giles Wilson to step down to become chief financial officer of distiller William Grant & Sons. He will stay with the business until August 31. He will not be replaced. Instead, Executive Chair Philipp Joeinig will oversee the group's activities. The company has commenced a search for a new independent non-executive director to ensure a majority of independent directors remain.

Berkeley Group Holdings PLC - Cobham-based housebuilder - Says Founder & Chair Tony Pidgeley has died. Pidgley founded the company as Berkeley Homes in 1976.

Vaalco Energy Inc - energy firm based in the US state of Texas - Hires Catherine Stubbs and George Maxwell as new independent directors, replacing John Knapp and Steve Pully. Stubbs is currently a director of Texas-based oil & gas explorer Aspire Holdings LLC and was previously chief financial officer. Maxwell founded Eland Oil & Gas PLC in 2009 . He was chief financial officer from 2010 to 2014, and chief executive from September 2014 to December 2019. Also hired Bradley Radoff as a director on Thursday. Radoff was previously portfolio manager at Third Point LLC and managing director of Lonestar Capital Management LLC. He holds 2.9 million Vaalco shares.

Shield Therapeutics PLC - Newcastle-based pharmaceutical company - Hires Christian Schweiger as a non-executive director effective immediately. Schweiger co-founded Shield in 2008 and was employed by the company between March 2016 and April 2017 in a senior medical science capacity. He holds 4.1 million shares, a 3.5% stake.

System1 Group PLC - London-based online market research company - Hires Stefan Barden as executive director effective immediately. He was previously chief executive of food manufacturer Northern Foods, chief executive of Heinz UK and Ireland, and chief executive of internet business Wiggle. Also hires Chris Willford as executive director. Willford is currently a director of software company My Wealth Cloud Ltd.

Spire Healthcare Group PLC - London-based private hospital operator - Hires Clifford Shearman as non-executive director effective from October 1. He is currently a non-executive director at the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch NHS Foundation Trust, and vice president of the Royal College of Surgeons.

Dewhurst PLC - Industrial lift & keypad components maker based in Feltham - Says non-executive director Alan Warren to resign on Tuesday. He joined the board in June 2018.

Sosandar PLC - Online women's fashion brand based in Cheshire - Hires Stephen Dilks as finance director, taking over from James Bowling who is stepping down to pursue other opportunities. Dilks is joining from outdoor apparel business Regatta where he served as finance director for five years. Stephen will join Sosandar on September 7 and Bowling will remain in the role until September 18 to ensure an orderly handover.

JPMorgan Smaller Companies Investment Trust PLC - investment company - Hires Gordon Humphries as an independent non-executive director, effective from July 1. He will become audit committee chair upon the retirement of Andrew Robson. Humphries is currently a director & chair of the audit and nomination committees for Foresight VCT PLC. He is also director & chair of the audit and risk committees for Maven Income & Growth VCT 5 PLC.
