North joins Ferrexpo board as CFO Mawe leaves

Mon, 06th Jul 2020 07:49

(Sharecast News) - Ferrexpo has made acting Chief Executive Jim North an executive director and announced the departure of Chief Financial Officer Chris Mawe.
North, who arrived at Ferrexpo in 2014 from London Mining, joins the board with immediate effect. He was appointed as acting CEO in May when the FTSE 250 miner said he would not join the board but would attend board meetings. He combines the job with his previous role as chief operating officer.

Mawe has stepped down as a director with immediate effect. Ferrexpo said he was expected to leave the company no later than the end of July 2021. He was acting CEO from October 2019 until North's appointment when Mawe was asked to return to his job as CFO, which he had held since 2008.

"The board of directors and senior management thank Chris for his contribution to the company over the last 12 years and wish him every success in his future endeavours," Ferrexpo said.
