IQE Hires Former O2 Finance Director As New Chief Financial Officer

Mon, 15th Oct 2018 12:53

LONDON (Alliance News) - AIM-listed semiconductor company IQE PLC said Monday it has appointed former O2 Finance Director Tim Pullen as its new chief financial officer, starting in early 2019.

Pullen will replace current interim CFO Godfrey Ainsworth, following completion of his notice period.

Pullen is currently CFO of ARM Ltd, a semiconductor & software design company owned by Japanese conglomerate Softbank Group. Prior to this, he was finance director at O2/Telefonica UK.

He was non-executive director of Tesco Mobile. He was also director of Cornerstone Telecommunications Infrastructure Ltd, O2's network sharing joint venture with Vodafone Group PLC.

Ainsworth, who is also IQE's executive chairman, will retire from the company before its next annual general meeting in 2019 but has agreed to remain in post to oversee the handover.

Phil Smith, currently senior independent director, will become non-executive chairman at the end of March.

Shares in IQE were up 5.2% Monday at 85.00 pence each.
